Here is the link: http://www.utexas.edu/world/barbarajordan/ High school writing contest: Entries in English and Spanish are being accepted for the 25th annual Dallas-Fort Worth Network of Hispanic Communicators' High School Writing Contest. A two-page essay should focus on young voters. Students do not have to be Latino to participate. Essays will be judged in three categories: ninth- and 10th-grade English; 11th- and 12th-grade English; and ninth- through 12th-grade Spanish. Students in grades 9-12 from Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties are eligible. Prizes include cash awards. The winning English-language essay will be considered for publication in The Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Deadline for entries is March 16. Winners will be announced April 21 at the Latino Cultural Center in Dallas. The contest is sponsored by The Dallas Morning News, Al Día, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Diario La Estrella.
